A Joyful Reunion at Our Red, White & Blue Bingo Luncheon

Dear Friends and Supporters,

As the Founder and President of Lettermen of the USA, I am still reflecting with deep joy on our Red, White & Blue Bingo Luncheon, held last, Thursday, August 21, from 12:00 to 2:00 PM in the elegant Gold Room at The Club in Homewood, Alabama. This remarkable afternoon brought our community together for laughter, shared meals, and spirited bingo—all in tribute to our nation’s veterans. For me, the day held an extra layer of meaning, as I had the privilege of reuniting face-to-face with my University of Alabama teammate, Bill Lutz, and his wife, Teresa, after many years apart. Though we’ve kept in touch, seeing them in person, as captured in the photo of Bill Lutz and me (see below), made the event truly unforgettable.

At LotUSA, our mission is to unite former collegiate athletes, coaches, and supporters from all walks of life in service to those who have served our country. The luncheon brought this vision to life, weaving together fellowship and purpose. Your presence means so much, and we hope you’ll jump in with us to support this incredible cause—because, let’s be honest, women get things done, don’t you? Through every bingo call and shared story, we honored our veterans’ sacrifices and strengthened the bonds of our community.

This event was more than a joyful gathering—it was a powerful reminder of our collective impact. Every guest, volunteer, and sponsor played a vital role in advancing our programs for veterans. With minimal administrative overhead, nearly all funds raised go directly to supporting veterans in need—because every dollar counts.

As I write this at 02:29 PM CDT on Friday, August 22, 2025, I’m filled with gratitude and optimism for what’s ahead. I warmly invite you to stay engaged with LotUSA. Whether you join us at future events, volunteer, donate, or share our mission, your involvement makes a lasting difference. Visit www.lotusa.org to explore more ways to connect and contribute.

On behalf of Lettermen of the USA, thank you for standing with us to honor our veterans. Moments like my reunion with Bill and Teresa remind me that our work not only supports our heroes but also deepens the ties that bind us. Together, with heart and purpose, we are building a stronger, more united community.

With gratitude and pride,

Darryl Fuhrman
