Watch the Presentation and Interviews!
Saturday at the Birmingham Barons game, we witnessed something truly special.
The Lettermen of the USA joined forces with the Birmingham Barons to bless the children of veterans with brand new HP laptops through our Laptops for Heroes program. These gifts represent so much more than technology—they are tools of opportunity, opening doors for learning, creativity, and the future.
Among the children was a brave young boy in a wheelchair, fighting cancer with courage far beyond his years. His mother, Sharika, and his brother stood faithfully beside him—a reminder that when you touch the life of a child, you touch the future itself. Tonight, their smiles carried the weight of hope.
We also promoted our Shelters for Heroes program at the ballpark, expanding our mission to stand beside veterans and their families in their most critical moments. Before the night ended, we learned Sharika and her children were facing homelessness the very next morning. With God’s grace and the generosity of contributors to the Lettermen of the USA, we were able to step in and provide another week of shelter.
This is the power of community. This is the heart of service. This is love in action.
When we lift up one veteran’s family, we lift up us all.
