BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - Several hundred veterans across central and northeast Alabama received free Thanksgiving meals thanks to the nonprofit Letterman of the USA.
This is the nonprofit’s 2nd annual Turkeys for Heroes event where they partner with other veteran organizations to deliver these meals to veterans and their families.
Organizers with the Letterman of the USA say their goal is to thank and honor veterans for their service through this Thanksgiving meal giveaway.
Lettermen of the USA President and Founder Darryl Fuhrman say the program is made possible by veteran volunteers and donors including the Houston project, post 255, post 688 and the Central Alabama veterans' Collaborative.
